American Industrial Hygiene Association 
AIHA provides information on Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety issues. Founded in 1939, this organization is dedicated to the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of environmental factors arising in or from the work place that may result in injury, illness, impairment, or affect the well-being of workers and members of the community. 

American National Standards Institute 
The ANSI Federation's goal is the enhancement of global competitiveness of U.S. business and the American quality of life by promoting and facilitating voluntary consensus standards and conformity assessment systems and promoting their integrity. 

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 
As another agency of the Department of Health and Human Services, the CDC's mission is to promote health and quality of life by preventing and controlling disease, injury, and disability.

Disaster Resources Web Site 
A part of the CES at the University of Illinois, the Disaster Resources Web Site provides access to information on disaster preparedness and recovery. They also provide links to other disaster related sites. 

Envirolink 
EnviroLink is a non-profit organization and "the largest online environmental information resource on the planet." A great site. 

Environmental Protection Agency 
The mission of the EPA is to protect public health and to safeguard and improve the natural environment - air, water, and land - upon which human life depends. 

Federal Emergency Management Agency 
Their Mission?: "To provide leadership and support to reduce the loss of life and property and protect our nation's institutions from all types of hazards through a comprehensive, risk-based, all-hazards emergency management program of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery". Their Site? Very useful and informative with areas dedicated to Emergency Preparedness and Training, Fire Safety ,Winter Storm Updates, and a Reference Library, among other areas.
National Fire Protection Association NFPA's site contains the latest information about the NFPA, its departments, publications, seminars, and educational programs. 

National Safety Council 
The mission of the NSC is to educate and influence society to adopt safety, health and environmental policies, practices and procedures that prevent and mitigate human suffering and economic losses arising from preventable causes. This is a great site which includes additional safety topics contained within Safety+Health and Family Safety+Healthmagazines. 

Occupational Health and Safety Adminastration 
OSHA's mission statement is simple: "... to save lives, prevent injuries and protect the health of America's workers. This is a giant site chock full of valuable information. Start with their main page then move on over to their Computerized Information System for tons more.

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
Responsible for the issuance, administration, and enforcement safety regulations, hazardous materials regulations, as it pertains to drug and alcohol.
